With each new season there is a reason to celebrate our downtown.
Summer festivities kick off with 3rd THURSDAYS, a monthly event series that takes place on the third Thursday of every month from June though October. ROUTE 23 CRAFT BEER WALK takes place in September and features eight Michigan breweries and 24 plus beers.
We celebrate fall during the final 3RD THURSDAYS of the season with a harvest festival that includes free hay rides, fresh donuts, music and food. Scarecrows on Main make our downtown streets look festive.
In November, POP ON MAIN STREET is held in tandem with Small Business Saturday, a nationwide event on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that encourages people to shop local. POP ON MAIN STREET features pop up markets, special deals and events at downtown retailers, and plenty of tasty treats.
During the holidays we celebrate the season by DECK(ING) THE TREES throughout the downtown and the entire city and one lucky person will WIN THE WINDOW filled with prizes just for shopping local.
Winter doesn't stop us from hosting an outdoor festival. In February, LET'S CHILL WINTER FEST attracts thousands of visitors for ice games and activities, a chili cook-off, a hot cocoa dash, free trolley rides, an artisan fair, the area's only Wine Walk, and tons of other fun for the entire family. LET'S CHILL WINTER FEST kicks off on Friday evening in a heated tent on Tolan Square with THE BIG FREEZE. Patrons enjoy tasty treat, bar service, and some of the best Jazz music around.
